It's hard to tell what the image is until you begin drawing each image in each square on a blank grid sheet. This is a very good exercise tool for you to use if your an art teacher helping students to learn to see as an artist sees. These grid sheets will give the amount of time it should take to draw each image in each square for a forty five minute period. An image of a toy wooden train is used as a stepping stone for more realistic drawing in the future. Learning to see shapes accurately is an advantage in pencil drawing for achieving realism. By using a simple toy train as an example we can practice drawing and learn to perceive these shapes . These are basic shapes used everywhere in the visible world around us and thus this makes an excellent starting point. Four grid patterns will be contained within this eBook. Painting a Sunflower ![]() What grows tall, is bright with yellow pedals and the squirrels love to eat the seeds it produces? By this point you know that it's a large sunflower. Painting a Sunflower begins with drawing a sunflower with graphite pencils. First capturing the contour lines of the sunflower image and then the details of the pedals, leaves and seeds. From there the familiarity of the sunflower in impressed on our minds more so by shading and contrasting the individual parts. All this and the oil painting portion hasn't begun yet. This is to prep the creative mind before the painting is begun to help us understand the art subject better. It's like reading a road map before you begin a vacation so that you know where you are going so as to not to get lost along the way. It's on to the oil painting portion of the eBook. An artist oil painting material list is provided so that you can compare these colors to those artist colors you use or you may like to pick up some new ones. Brushes, cleaners and other artist materials are written about also to show what is needed for completing this oil painting.
