Pencil Section - Reedy River Falls Park Artwork Placing Reedy River Falls Image on an Artist Painting Canvas ![]() For the girded waterfall photo to be placed on the canvas with the right ratio an adjustment to the grid pattern size needed to be done. The artist transparency grid pattern squares are a half inch in size. Grid pattern squares need to be enlarged so that the whole image fits properly across and down the canvas. In order to do this I needed to enlarge the grid squares to a two inch size. The canvas size used in this artwork is twenty inches wide and thirty inches high. To ensure the the image is transferred at the right ratio count the number squares occupied by the image horizontally. Then I only need to divide this number by twenty. So the formula works this way : Number of grid squares - 10. Size of canvas width - 20 inches. Equals square size of - 2 inches each. After the grid pattern was made then transferring the waterfall image was begun. |
