Artist Oil Painting of Glowing Iris

About the "Glowing Iris"
30 inches high by 20 inches wide Artist Oil Painting on Cotton Canvas

It is something to make the mind wander. If you view the "Glow Iris" from the bottom of the painting you will notice the background is a little fuzzy. Like the human eye what we see is not all in focus but just what the center of interest happens to be at any given moment.

Then from the bottom of the painting. Instead of your vision being pulled up the stem of the flower it will follow the fading path. The path will lead you to the "Glowing Iris" in a dreamy different kind of way. The background is all faded to create this effect.

The dark rich lower pedals pulls your vision from the path way bringing your eyes closer to the area of interest. Up to the soft pink pedals surrounded by a glow in the sky your vision is carried. Here you rest your mind in peace from the warm glow surrounding the flower.

Your gaze should be moved into the painting's background and then move your sight forward again when you look at different areas. Painting this way creates perspective. In all my paintings I attempt to make the art viewers sense that they can actually walk into the oil painting itself. Hopefully your computer monitor screen resolution will give the same impression.
