Oil Painting Sunsets

This sunset oil painting will have a warm yellowish glowing center with some orange hues turning to reds, then lavender and on to blue sky. What I want to do first is create the first layer beginning at the top of the canvas with a blue. Then I'll have this color change progressively to a lighter warmer shade as we move down the canvas. The lavender from Alizarin Crimson creates a barrier so that the warm yellows and blue do not mix and turn the sky into a green.

After the sky color has been brushed on, by painting in some dark clouds the oil painting will take shape and begin to have some contrast and characteristics.
