  Transferring Yellow Lily Flower Grid Image to an Artist Canvas

You will need the Free grid pattern PDF file in the right column for this online art lesson. Simply fill out the necessary information and then submit the the short form.

This a brief explaination of how to take the grid pattern image of the Yellow Lily and transfer the flower image to different sizes to your artist canvas or other artist material surface.






  Oil Painting Section
  • Sky Area Base Coat Painted In
  • First base coat of a warm golden sky is brushed in from a reference photo that I had taken while I was on vacation. I used Titanium Whiteicon, Yellow Ochre icon and Alizarin Crimson icon for the artist oil paint colors.


  • Painting the Lily Flower Base Coat
  • Brushed in base colors used for first application where Sap Green icon, Lemon Yellowicon, and Yellow Ocker for the pedals and budding flowers according to the painted sky. On the leaf areas I incorporated some Colbalt Blue and Alizarin Crimson to darken the leaves.
